Overview of Dementia Care
Providing a holistic model of care for clients diagnosed with dementia is the philosophy used in this introductory course. Students explore differences between healthy aging and dementia, and learn about the assessment and diagnosis of this neurocognitive disorder. Appropriate physical and emotional environment, effects of dementia on clients, caregivers and the family unit are explored/studied. The role of research and the importance of public and professional education are also discussed.

Kenjgewin Teg Fees, Cancellations, Withdrawals and Refunds Policy:

Cancellation: Kenjgewin Teg reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel a course that has insufficient registrations to provide a satisfactory learning atmosphere. If program/course is cancelled by Kenjgewin Teg, registration fee will be refunded in full or applied to the re-scheduled course.

Fee Payment: Fees are due at the time of registration to ensure a seat is held for participant within the program/course. Kenjgewin Teg accepts e-transfer, cash, cheque, debit, VISA, Mastercard. Invoicing to a Sponsor/Funding Agency requires a Purchase Order (PO). Sponsor/Funding Agency agrees to this Fee, Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refund policy by submitting Purchase Order on behalf of and for the responsibility of client/registrant submitted on this form.

Withdrawals and Refunds: Registration will be fully refunded if notice of withdrawal is given at least two (2) business days before the course start date. A refund request must be submitted in writing and must include the original course registration receipt. A refund request received at least 24 hours before the start of the class, a 20% processing fee will be deducted when the refund is issued. No refund is issued for a request received less than 24 hours before the start of the course.
